SANAA, March 07 (YPA) – President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, discussed on Tuesday with Minister of Tourism Ahmed bin Al-Hassan Al-Amir the issues and challenges facing tourism in Yemen.
In the meeting, President Al-Mashat noted that tourism is a major economic stream for the country, accounting for 80% of total domestic tourism.
He also stated that the US-Saudi aggression has devastated many historical and archaeological sites in Yemen, and he urged the Ministry of Tourism to pay special attention to public parks that serve as gathering places for civilians.
President Al-Mashat also emphasized the significance of growing and modernizing the tourism sector in different provinces based on what is practicable and available.
He directed the Ministry of Tourism to pay attention to public parks that represent outlets for citizens, stressing the importance of developing and modernizing the tourism sector in the provinces.
