Syrian Ministry of Health: Death toll from earthquake rises to 812

DAMASCUS, Feb. 07 (YPA) – Death toll in the earthquake rose to 812 deaths and 1449 injuries in Aleppo, Lattakia, Hama, Idleb countryside and Tartous so far, Syrian Ministry of Health said on Tuesday.

A large-scale search and rescue operation continues as rescue workers cut through the rubble to save lives.

On Monday, a powerful 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit Turkey and Syria, killing thousands, levelling buildings while people were still in their sleep.
