STC reveals fate of so-called ‘Dara Alwatten Forces’

HADRAMOUT, Jan. 30 (YPA) – A leader in the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia revealed the fate of the so-called ( Dara Alwatten) “Shield of Homeland”, whose establishment sparked a wide controversy by the head of the Riyadh Presidential Council.

Abdullah Mubarak al-Ghaithi, a leader in the militia in Hadramout province, said in a post on Twitter: ” The Shield of Homeland Forces, or rather the Shield of Legitimacy, will be an alternative to the Hadrami Elite Forces, which the people of Hadramout are demanding to deploy in the desert and valley of the province.”

He added: “Just wait and it will replace the forces of the First Military Region and they will say we implemented the Riyadh Agreement.”

Al-Ghaithi, continued: “The hope was that the forces of the First Military Region would withdraw from Hadramout to the northern governorates, so the forces of the First Military Region would be announced to be established in Aden under the name of the Shield of the Nation. The homeland of the (legitimate) government.”
