Southern Movement calls on citizens to take to the streets for uprising in Aden

ADEN, Jan. 12 (YPA) – The Revolutionary Movement Council discussed the catastrophic repercussions that caused great harm to the lives of citizens as a result of systematic policies pursued by the government loyal to Saudi-led coalition government, which puts our people on the brink of an unprecedented famine.

“Unfortunately, this government has not been able to control the illegal levies and fees imposed by militias and influential forces in favor of parties affiliated with the government to meet its deficit and expenses from the pocket of citizens and ordinary people,” the movement said in a statement this on Wednesday evening.

The statement added: “Therefore, the revolutionary movement strongly rejects the policies that aim to starve and humiliate our people and fight them for their livelihood through the deadly measures taken by pro-coalition government, which is stripped from all human values. It should elevate tragic suffering of our people instead of burdening them with the concerns of living that have become distressed.”

The movement expressed regret for the position of the partners of the so-called parity government who speak on behalf of the south  and approve policies aimed at starving and humiliating our people.

It said: “The Revolutionary Movement Council considers the equal government of the coalition a partner in humiliating and starving our people, who suffer from extreme poverty, exorbitant prices and salary cuts.

“These deadly price doses that target the citizen in his livelihood and life come at a time when that powerless government took a few days ago decisions that grant the general managers of the offices of the members of the so-called Presidential Council high job bicycles and give them the degrees of ministers in a step that drains public money, at the expense of the needs of citizens,” the statement read.

The Movement called on the southern people, especially the people of the capital Aden, to reject these unjust policies that target them and to carry out a peaceful popular uprising against the forces of corruption.
