Fishermen in Mahra rally to protest against poaching

MAHRA, Dec. 25 (YPA) – Dozens of fishermen staged on Sunday a protest rally the city of Al-Ghaydah, the center of Mahra to stop the poaching in the province’s waters.

In the rally, the participants, for the third day in a row, called for the coalition-backed authorities to move quickly to stop the indiscriminate fishing by the foreign and local fishing companies and to limit the dredging process.

The fishermen pointed out that unselective fishing caused a disaster in Mahra seas, which led to the extinction of many seasonal fish species.
