Cold wave expected to continue across Yemen

SANAA, Dec. 12 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology predicted on Monday cold to relatively cold weather across Yemen’s provinces.

The center indicated in its weather bulletin on Monday the a cold wave would over the provinces of Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar and Bayda, Abyan, Lahj, Ibb, Dhalea, Mahweet and Raymah.

It mentioned that the weather in the coastal areas would be clear to partly cloudy, and the active to strong winds on the south of the western coast, the entrance to Bab al-Mandab and the west of the Gulf of Aden to reach a maximum speed of 30 knots.

The weather in the Socotra archipelago might be partly cloudy, with the possibility of light and sporadic rain, and the maximum wind speed reaching 20 knots.

The center warned citizens, especially the elderly, children, patients, and travelers to the aforementioned provinces, to take the necessary precautions to prevent cold weather.
