SANAA, Dec. 03 (YPA) – The former spokesman for Ministry of Oil in Sanaa, Hassan al-Zaidi, revealed the struggle of foreign agendas in the oil-rich provinces in eastern Yemen.
“The decision to protect Yemeni wealth thwarted the American-French arrangements to re-liquefy and export gas and loot it, as happened with oil,” Al-Zaidi told Al-Masirah TV.
He added, “The conflict of foreign agendas in Shabwa aims to control the Yemeni gas wealth.”
Al-Zaidi indicated that the American-French ambitions are based on the possibility of producing gas from other sectors, pointing to relying on the readiness of the infrastructure related to transportation and liquefaction.
Al-Zaidi affirmed that the losses of gas flaring are multiple and not limited to economic ones only, but also include its environmental and health effects.
