UAE militias impose its military control over Mahra

MAHRA, Oct. 30 (YPA) – UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias have managed to take over Mahra province, in eastern Yemen.

This came after the decision of the head of the Riyadh-formed Presidential Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, to appoint a leader loyal to the STC, Muhsin Marsa Al-Kazmi, as the leader of Ghaydah axis in Mahra, was completely rejected by Mahra people.

They considered the decision an open conspiracy to bring down Mahra at the hands of the “STC” militias and a threat to security and social peace.

On social media, Mahra people accused Al-Alimi Council of deliberately marginalizing all the military competencies from the people of the province, stressing their absolute refusal to accept such malicious schemes.

They demanded the appointment of military leaders from the people of the province, who would not be affiliated with anyone, pointing to their right to declare Mahra and Socotra an independent region, similar to Hadramout.

The UAE and Saudi Arabia are seeking to eliminate the popular movements against the presence of American and British foreign forces in Mahra, through the “STC” militia, so that Saudi Arabia can extend the oil pipeline from its lands through the Yemeni Mahra to the Arabian Sea.

During the past years, according to the leader, Ali Salem Al-Huraizi, Saudi Arabia prevented 11 oil and gas companies from extracting Yemeni oil wealth in the province.
