HODEIDA, Oct. 13 (YPA) – The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Ibrahim Al-Hamli, and the Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator, Joyce Msuya, on Thursday visited Al-Thawra General Hospital in Hodeida province.
During the visit, Al-Hamli and Musya were briefed by chairman of the hospital, Dr. Khaled Suhail, on the centers, departments, and devices of the hospital, the challenges facing its work, and the hospital’s most prominent needs.
Dr. Suhail explained that the hospital is facing great pressure from medical service seekers in light of its continuous need to establish a general emergency center, and expand the pediatric department and the children’s care center.
He stressed the keenness of the hospital’s leadership to advance the service situation and work to raise the level of performance and efficiency of the hospital’s medical staff.
Al-Hamali urged the UN official to support the efforts of the health sector to alleviate the suffering of patients and provide medical services to citizens in the province and neighboring provinces.
