TEHRAN, Oct. 13 (YPA) – Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi on Thursday said that the United States of America and the Zionist entity are the cause of insecurity and the spread of violence, terrorism, wars and turmoil in the region.
This came during his speech at the sixth summit of the member states of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia(CICA), held in Astana.
Raisi justified his opinion by referring to “overreach, occupation, racism and the killing of children and civilians in Palestine, Syria, Yemen and Afghanistan.”
He pointed out that “this situation will not end unless the occupation ends and the right of peoples and nations to self-determination is respected,” according to what was reported by the official Iranian news agency IRNA.
Raisi called for “practical steps through political dialogue in Afghanistan, with the aim of forming an expanded government in which all Afghan parties participate with international commitments, especially bilateral pledges with neighboring countries.”
Regarding Syria, the Iranian president said that “the takfiris in Syria, after failing to achieve their goals, moved towards the east in a plan to spread unrest in several regions, including Central Asia. Just as terrorism threatens security in any region in which it is located, the expansion of NATO under any heading is characterized by a threat to security and stability.”
The Iranian president condemned all types of terrorism, including “economic terrorism”, which he said “hampers the economic development of independent countries.”
He added that his country, with its ancient civilization and rich culture, has established its foreign policy on the basis of divine-human teachings that include justice, freedom and independence.
Raisi pointed out that the world needs a more effective role for regional mechanisms more than ever. “CICA member states can use current methods to expand peace and security based on diplomacy, justice and spirituality.”
