SANAA, Sept. 02 (YPA) – Thunderstorms of varying intensity are predicted over a number of provinces over the next 24 hours, the national meteorological center said in a statement on Friday.
“Rainfall of varying intensity accompanied by thunderstorms is likely to sometimes fall on scattered areas of the western and southwestern highlands, especially Lahj, Taiz, Ibb, Dhalea, Rayma, West Dhamar, Mahweet and Hajjah,” the statement read.
Rains may fall on the coasts of Abyan, Aden and Lahj, and the west coast and the corresponding highlands. Sporadic rainfall is expected on parts of Abyan, the Shabwa highlands and southwest of Hadramout, it said.
The center also warned citizens against the flow of torrents in water ways and valleys, calling on motorists to drive carefully due to the low horizontal visibility on mountainous roads as a result of rain and low clouds or fog.
