ABYAN, Aug. 25 (YPA) – UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia on Thursday took control of the Islah “Special Security Forces” camp in Abyan province, south of Yemen.
The STC militias, led by Abdul Latif al-Sayed, imposed its control over Qasha’a camp in the Ahwar area, east of Abyan, local sources said.
The sources indicated that the “Security Belt” militia, including members of Al-Qaeda, spread in the “Special Forces” sites and their affiliated points in the area.
Last year, the commander of the Islah-affiliated “Special Security Forces”, Mohammed Al-Oban, had taken control of the Qasha’a camp in Abyan coast, after a security campaign that expelled the “STC” militia.
