Islah Party pushes military reinforcements to Lahj
LAHJ, Aug. 24 (YPA) – Islah Party militants on Wednesday pushed large military reinforcements to Lahj province, south of Yemen.
Southern media outlets reported that the Party announced the mobilization of its ranks in Tur Al Baha district, in addition to the arrival of large reinforcements with various types of weapons from Taiz.
This coincided with similar mobilizations for the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and the start of arrangements for a decisive battle in Lahj, which indicates an explosion of the military situation there.
On Tuesday, the STC militia organized a military parade in Abu al-Yamamah camp, which was part of military arrangements to deploy in the last Islah strongholds on the border strip between Taiz and Lahj, where Islah deploying under the name of Tur Al Baha.
The expected spread of the STC would be part of Emirati plans to tighten its grip on the coast overlooking Bab al-Mandab Strait, which is currently shared by its militias in the west and south coast with factions supported by Qatar and Turkey.
