Top commander kidnapped in Lahj

LAHJ, July. 22 (YPA) – Gunmen kidnapped on Friday a prominent commander in the UAE-backed Giant forces in Lahj province, southern Yemen.

Sources familiar with the matter said that an armed group intercepted the staff of the 16th “Giant” Brigade, Brigadier Othman Nasser Al-Mushoushi, while he was driving on the coastal road in Al-Sabiha in the Al-Mudaraba district, and took him to an unknown destination.

The sources added that the process of kidnapping came in response to Yafe’ soldiers who ambushed an officer from “Al-Ka’la” tribe , while he was passing a security point in the Bir Ahmed area of Aden, which led to the injury of three of his companions, and the looting of his car.

Referring to the requirement of the tribal militants to hand over the attacking soldiers to the Southern Transitional Council (STC), in exchange for the release of Al-Mushoushi.
