Transport Minister calls for revising terms of armistice
SANAA, Jul. 18 (YPA) – The Minister of Transport of the National Salvation Government, Abdulwahhab Yahya Al-Durra, on Monday called for reconsidering and expanding the terms of the truce to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people, pay salaries and release captives.
This came during an expanded meeting held today for the leaders and employees of the Ministry of Transport on the first day of official working hours, following the Eid al-Adha holiday.
The Minister of Transport said that extending a new period for the humanitarian truce without implementing what was included in the previous two periods and expanding its provisions to include important and vital issues is not feasible for the Yemeni people in general and the sick and travelers in particular.
Al-Durra stressed that the Saudi-led coalition continues to repudiate and delay the implementation of what was stated in the humanitarian truce, especially in the conduct of commercial flights to Cairo.
He reiterated the readiness of Sanaa Airport and its commitment to the internationally approved security and safety requirements, calling for the need to open airports, ports, roads and land crossings without restriction or condition, as a human right guaranteed by all international regulations, charters and agreements.
