Syria: 5 civilians killed, 3 wounded in attack by gunmen in Daraa

DARAA, Jun. 28 (YPA) – At least five citizens were killed while two women and a child were injured in an attack with machine guns launched by unidentified gunmen who targeted the house of the Head of the Agriculture Department in al-Sanamen City, Daraa northern countryside, Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported, citing a police source.

A source at Daraa Police Command stated that unidentified gunmen targeted a group of citizens who were in the house of the Head of al-Sanamen Agriculture Department, as the former secretary of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party Branch in Daraa Kamal al-Atma was among the attacked citizens.

The source added that a number of citizens sustained severe injuries in the attack and they were rushed to al-Sanamen Military Hospital where later five of them died of their wounds while two women sustained wounds of minor to serious severity.

For his part, Head of Agriculture Directorate, Eng. Bassam Hashish said that Head of al-Sanamen Agriculture was not wounded in the attack which targeted his house.
