President Al-Mashat stresses need for full implementation of humanitarian truce terms

SANAA, Jun. 08 (YPA) – President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, met on Wednesday at the Presidential House in the capital, Sanaa, the UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grandborg, and his accompanying team.

In the meeting, President Al-Mashat stressed the need for the full implementation of the terms of the humanitarian truce to contribute to alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people.

He referred to the repeated seizure and piracy of oil ships by the Saudi-led coalition, which violates the humanitarian truce terms, raises the fines, and doubles the suffering of the Yemeni people, and this is inconsistent with the goals of the truce.

President Al-Mashat considered the repeated cancellation of flights scheduled for the provisions of the humanitarian truce through Sana’a International Airport as a clear disavowal by the aggression coalition from the decisions and provisions of the truce.

“The sudden cancellation of flights deprives citizens of benefiting from this truce, considering it almost non-existent,” he said, stressing the need to fully define a table for flights scheduled during the truce period, and there are no justifications for not doing so.

He pointed out that all state employees continue to suffer as a result of the suspension of salaries, while the Yemeni people’s oil and gas wealth is continuously and openly looted by thieves.

The President called for the United Nations to play its role in putting pressure on the other party to deposit all resources from oil and gas wealth, customs and tax fees into the salary account in order to pay the salaries of employees in all provinces.

“We are keen to alleviate the citizens’ suffering caused by the aggression and its mercenaries in Taiz and the rest of the provinces,” he added, pointing to the looting, kidnapping and killing crimes against travelers in Tor al-Baha area of Lahj province.
