China: Washington should be careful in its statements on Taiwan

SANAA, May 23 (YPA) – The Chinese authorities announced their strong protest against the statement made by the US President Joe Biden on Washington’s readiness to defend Taiwan “militarily”.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman, Wang Wenbin, said in a news statement on Monday the United States of America should “be careful with its comments on Taiwan.”

He also said that China “expressed strong dissatisfaction and protest against the statement of the US side,” noting that “Taiwan is an inalienable part of Chinese territory.”

Earlier, the US President had said, during a joint press conference with Japanese Prime Minister, Fumio Kishida, in Tokyo, that the United States of America would intervene militarily if China invaded Taiwan.
