Al-Barakani in intensive care room after being poisoned in Aden

CAIRO, May 21 (YPA) – Political sources reported on Saturday the deterioration of the health of the leading member in the General People’s Congress (GPC) Party, Sultan Al-Barakani, after he was subjected to an assassination attempt with poison in the city of Aden earlier in this month.

The sources indicated that Al-Barakani was urgently transferred during the past hours from the Egyptian capital, Cairo, to Germany, following the deterioration of his health and the spread of poison in large parts of his body.

Al-Barakani was subjected to an assassination attempt by using poison while he was in Al-Ma’ashiq Palace in Aden and he was transferred to Cairo for treatment, amid accusations against officials in the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) of standing behind poisoning him through a bottle of mineral water, according to the sources.
