ISIS claims responsibility for attack on Egyptian troops

WORLD, May 09 (YPA) – ISIS has on Sunday claimed responsibility Sunday  for the  attack that killed 11 Egyptian soldiers in the northeastern Sinai.

Reuters reported that the group claimed responsibility for a deadly attack that killed an Egyptian officer and 10 soldiers in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, without giving further details.

At least 11 members of the Egyptian military, including an officer, have been killed in an armed attack on the Sinai Peninsula, an army spokesman said.

Five security personnel were also injured in the attack, the army spokesman has said, adding that the security forces “foiled a terrorist attack” on a water-lifting station east of the Suez Canal.
