Girl drowns in dam in Sanaa province

SANAA, May 05 (YPA) – A girl drowned on Thursday  in ‘Shahik’ Dam in Al-Tayal district of Sanaa governorate , a medical source said.

Dr. Khalid al-Montaser, director of the provincial health office, told the Saba news agency that a girl of five people from the same family had drowned  in the Shahk dam while  four were rescued .

Al-Montaser praised the cooperation of the citizens and the efforts made by the medical staff present at the dam in carrying out first aid, which helped in rescuing  the four others.

He called on citizens to exercise caution and abide by instructions and  not to swim in dams and waterfalls in order to preserve their lives.
