Sanaa offers to release 400 war prisoners in new exchange deal
SANAA, April 24 (YPA) – Head of the National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs in Sanaa, Abdul Qader Al-Mortada, on Sunday offered to conclude a UN-sponsored new prisoner exchange deal including 400 war captives.
Al-Mortada said on Twitter: “Due to the delay in the procedures for implementing the prisoner exchange agreement, we have made the deal with the Saudi-led coalition forces, which stipulates the release of 200 prisoners from each party before Eid al-Fitr.”
Al-Murtada said this initiative would be a positive prelude to the full implementation of the agreement, adding, “We are waiting for their positive response.”
