Russian forces destroy mercenary training center in Ukraine

MOSCOW, April 08 (YPA) – Russian Defense Ministry spokesperson, Major-General Igor Konashenkov, said that the Russian Armed Forces, using high-precision air missiles, destroyed weapons and combat equipment that arrived from the reserves of the Ukrainian forces to the railway stations in many towns  in Donbass.

In a media briefing on Friday,  Konashenkov said that “With high-precision missiles of the Bastion system, a center for gathering and training foreign mercenaries was destroyed in the vicinity of Krasnosilka town, northeast of Odessa.”

He added that “Russian air defense forces shot down two Ukrainian Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters near Zborjovka town and 5 drones, including two of the Bayraktar model, in the vicinity of Krivorok.

The tactical operational aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces targeted 81 Ukrainian military facilities, including two command centers, an OSA anti-air missile defense system, three missile launchers, nine fortified centers and 59 mobilization sites of Ukrainian combat equipment.

Konashenkov stressed that since the start of the special military operation, 97 helicopters, 421 drones, 228 anti-aircraft missile systems, 2,019 tanks and armored vehicles, 223 rocket launchers, 874 field guns and mortars, and 1,917 special military vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been shot down.
