Violent clashes reputed in Marib

MARIB, March 21 (YPA) – Violent clashes reputed on Monday among the Saudi-led coalition recruits in the province of Marib, according to local sources.

The clashes took place in front of the gate of Marib General Hospital, between the coalition forces and the families of the dead recruits.

The sources said that the coalition forces forcibly dispersed a protest rally for the families of the coalition’s recruits, who were killed in an mistaken raid that targeted their gatherings in Al-Akd area few days ago.

One of military vehicles belonging to the coalition and a citizen’s car were destroyed during the clashes.

The sources indicated that the families of the dead rejected the request of Sultan al-Arada, the governor, appointed by the Saudi-backed exiled Hadi government in Marib, and “Saghir bin Aziz,” the chief of staff of “Hadi’s Ministry of Defense, to receive the bodies of their killed sons.

The coalition warplanes launched raids two days ago, targeting gatherings of the recruits of the Sixth and Seventh Military Regions, loyal to the coalition, in the Al-Akd region, killing 34 recruits and wounding dozens.
