Hundreds of coalition recruits flee their positions south of Marib

MARIB, March 16 (YPA) -Fierce fighting erupted Wednesday between the Yemeni army forces on one side and Saudi-led coalition forces and their mercenaries on the other, south of Marib city, amid reports of dozens of dead and wounded on both sides.

Local sources in Marib told Yemen Press Agency that the Yemeni army forces launched a large-scale military attack from positions they had taken control of in recent days, towards the  coalition’s positions in the Falaj area.

According to the sources, about 60 coalition’s gunmen  were killed or wounded, while  hundreds other fled their positions.

This comes one week after Sanaa’s forces took control of the strategic “Al-Aref” area, southwest of the city.

The forces of aggression attempted to provide aerial support by launching dozens of airstrikes, but failed to hinder the progress of the Yemeni Army and Popular Committees.
