Somalian army says 200 al-Qaeda-linked al Shabaa members killed

SANAA, March 13 (YPA) – The Somali National Army has carried out military operations in the central province of Galgaduud, killing more than 200 members of the al Qaeda-linked al Shabaa movement, state news agency (SONNA) reported on Sunday.

According to SONNA, The air forces launched airstrikes on the positions of the terrorists in the central province of Galgaduud.

Somalia has stepped up security operations against al-Shabab in the central and southern regions. However, the terrorist group still controls large swaths of rural areas where they ambushed military forces.
