MOSCOW, Feb. 17 (YPA) – The Russian Defense Ministry has announced that the ships and boats of the Caspian flotilla began planned military exercises.
The ministry said in a statement that 20 warships of the fleet are participating in the maneuvers, including the missile ship “Dagestan”, small missile boats, small artillery ships, basic minesweepers and support vessels.
The crews of the ships of the flotilla will work out joint actions in sailing in a single marching order, repulsing the means of air attack of a mock enemy and conducting mock naval combat.
In accordance with a plan for training the Russian armed forces in 2022 a series of naval exercises will be held in January-February in all zones of the fleets’ responsibility under the general guidance of the commander-in-chief of the Russian Navy.
