Hundreds in Hadramout gather to demand release of detainees

HADRAMOUT, Jan. 27 (YPA) – Hundreds of citizens gathered in the city of Mukalla to demand the release of the detainees, including sheikh Saleh bin Hariz and several leaders of the Hadrami uprising.

Local sources affirmed that the protesters raised pictures of “Bin Hariz” and slogans of the “Hadrami uprising” calling for an end to the looting of the province’s oil and improvement of living conditions.

The security forces in Mukalla had arrested bin Hariz and a number of his companions from the Hadrami uprising’s leaders in Al-Ayoun camp earlier this week.
