NEW YORK, Nov. 08 (YPA) -The UN Security Council is to hold a closed-door meeting this evening, Monday, to discuss the latest developments in the Palestinian territories, including Israel’s designation of six Palestinian civil and human rights organizations as terrorist organizations on October 22, and its announcement on settlement expansion.
The meeting is held under the “any other matter” item, which are closed meetings that are listed on the council’s agenda to which various items are added at the request of one of the member states according to developments in the international arena.
Tunisia requested the holding of the meeting at which the Deputy Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process and the Humanitarian Coordinator in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Lynne Hastings, will submit its briefing to the Council.
It is not expected that any press or presidential statement will be issued by the council in this regard.
