Iraqi security force repels ISIS attack in Kirkuk

KIRKUK, Oct. 05 (YPA) – An Iraqi security source said Monday that a security force repelled an attack by the terrorist group ISIS in kirkuk province, in the north of the country.

“A security force, while watching in thermal cameras for suspicious movements, was able to repel an attack by  number of ISIS elements in Riyadh district of Kirkuk,” the source said in an interview published by Sumerian News. The source did not give further details.

The counter-terrorism unit  continues to hunt down remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs in various Iraqi provinces.

On Friday, Iraqi military spokesman Yahya Rasool said eight terrorists had been killed by Iraqi army air force in Kirkuk.
