Sanaa holds coalition, UN responsible for Siamese twins’ death

SANAA, Sept. 28 (YPA) – The Public Health and Population Office in Sanaa held on the Saudi-led coalition countries and the United Nations responsible for the death of the conjoined twins as a result of the siege imposed on Sanaa International Airport.

In a statement on Tuesday, Dr. Mutahar Al-Maroni, the director of the office, affirmed that the Siamese twin died as a result of the failure to be transferred abroad to receive the necessary medical care to save their life, in light of the lack of specialized medical devices and cadres in Yemen.

Al-Maroni explained he has appealed the UN several times to transport the twins abroad through its own flights from Sanaa airport, but it did not respond, stressing that medical care was provided for the twins according to the available capabilities in a hospital in the capital.

He pointed out that the Siamese twin reflects the extent of the human suffering that the Yemeni people are subjected to as a result of the closure of Sanaa Airport, which has caused the death of thousands of patients who need treatment outside Yemen.

Al-Maroni called for the United Nations and all international and humanitarian organizations to intervene to open Sanaa Airport to save lives of thousands of patients.
