North Korea’s ambassador to the United Nations has stressed that no one could deny his country’s right to self defense and to test weapons. The United States should give its hostile policy towards Pyongyang in order to improve relations with North Korea, he said
Kim Sung noted at the same time that relations between the United States and North Korea are characterized by the fact that both countries are still officially at war, as after the end of the 1950-1953 Korean War, only a truce agreement was signed.
Kim Sung made it clear that his country would not use nuclear weapons and threaten the security of the United States, South Korea and other countries, while stressing that no one could deny his country from the right to self-defence and weapons testing.
He also said that if the US wants to end the Korean War, it should abandon the hostile policy, stop military exercises and deploy strategic weapons.
South Korea’s military said North Korea had fired an unidentified projectile towards the sea off its east coast.
