KABUL, Sept. 09 (YPA) – The Taliban have invited Russia, China, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan and Iran to attend the inauguration ceremony of the new Afghan government.
“Russia, China, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan and Iran have so far been invited to attend the inauguration ceremony,” the Russian news agency Novosti quoted a source in the movement as saying in a statement on Wednesday.
Abdul Ghani Baradar, the deputy leader in the new caretaker government of Afghanistan on Wednesday went to Qatar to make similar calls to several other countries.
The Taliban announced the composition of a new government, which honored elements of the movement.
The Taliban have appointed United Nations-blacklisted veteran Mullah Mohammad Hasan Akhund as acting prime minister of the new de-facto Afghan government and the group’s co-founder Abdul Ghani Baradar as deputy prime minister, the chief spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said in a statement on Tuesday.
