Military commander loyal to Islah wounded in Taiz

TAIZ, Sept. 05 (YPA) – A military commander loyal to Saudi-led coalition has survived an assassination attempt in Taiz, southwest Yemen.

This was reported by Yemen News Portal, based on local sources.

According to the sources , an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded and targeted a military vehicle carrying, Brigadier general Mohammed al-Khawlani, former commander of the military police, as he passing  through Wadi Al-Dahi, west of Taiz.

The blast  injured Al-Khawlani and his companion in addition to causing  damages to the car, the sources said.

Al-Khawlani was dismissed from the military police force after a struggle with leaders of Islah military  forces, who are taking control over  the city.
