Prominent politician reveals new trend of armed formations in Yemen’s south

ADEN, Sept. 02 (YPA) – A prominent southern politician and academician has on Thursday revealed a new trend of armed formations in Yemen’s  southern provinces.

Abdulrahman Al-Wali, in a tweet said that  the issue of tribal and regional formations have become a trend these days in the southern provinces.

He considered that the southern provincial community was civil, and that any attempt to restore local tensions was doomed to failure.

Saudi-led coalition states have established and funded multiple regional and sectarian militias from various regions under various names of “security belts, the Hadhrami,  Shabawni elites, and the brigades of giants”, each of which belongs to different regions and tribes of southern Yemen.
