Corona deaths in America rise 11% in few days

SANAA, Aug. 29 (YPA) – COVID-19-related deaths in the United States in the last seven days rose nearly 11% from the previous period, the Director of Disease Control and Prevention said Friday.

“The daily death rate increased over seven days to approximately 864 deaths per day, an increase of approximately 11% over the previous seven-day period,” Rochelle Walinsky said at a White House press briefing.

Walinsky added that the CDC also reported an average of 142,000 new coronavirus cases per day during the same seven-day period, representing an increase of about 3 percent.

In the same seven-day period, the CDC reported a total of 12,000 hospitalizations, an increase of nearly 6% over the previous seven-day period.

The health official added that the CDC now expects between 651,000 and 680,000 deaths due to the Corona virus pandemic by September 18.
