SANAA, Aug. 18 (YPA) – Britain announced a plan to accommodate up to 20,000 Afghan nationals.
This comes against the backdrop of the wave of immigration that followed the Taliban’s takeover of the country.
Currently, Britain has said it will take 5,000 Afghan refugees, and is expected to expand its refugee program to eventually help 20,000 people who have fled the Taliban.
The British Home Secretary Priti Patel indicated that the focus will be on women, girls, minorities and other religions in Afghanistan.
