Head of coalition war operations survives assassination attempt in Marib

MARIB, Aug. 13 (YPA) – The head of war operations for the Saudi-led coalition forces survived on Friday an assassination attempt near the city of Marib, northeastern Yemen.

According to informed sources, a landmine, which was planted in the main raod linking the Marib city and Shabwa province, exploded near a car of Major General “Nasser Al-Thibani.

The explosion came during the return of “Al-Thibani” from a field visit he made to the “Bayhan axis belonging to the coalition forces.

During the past three months, a number of the assassination attempts that targeted leaders of the coalition forces have escalated in Marib, which revealed the fact of the conflict intensified among the coalition forces.
