Three women killed, 34 wounded by lightning strikes in Dhamar

DHAMAR, Aug. 12 (YPA) – At least three women were killed and 34 others were wounded when by lightning strikes and thunderstorms in Dhamar province, central Yemen.

According to medical sources, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning strikes hit a house in the village of al-Aqmar in Anns District.

The house was full of women were attending wedding party in the district.

The sources said that the incident caused the deaths of three women and injured 31 women between fractures and burns, one of cases in a serious condition.

A thunderstorm and lighting strikes hit another house in the village of Maram in the same area, which resulted in the injuring of three women, the sources said.

Rescue teams and residents took the injured to Dhamar General Hospital for treatment, the sources said.
