Train collides with passengers bus in Egypt
CAIRO, Aug. 09 (YPA) – A collision accident occurred on Sunday between a train transporting goods and a passengers bus in the city of Zagazig in Sharkia Governorate in Egypt, the Railway Authority said.
“Cairo 24” website quoted a source in the Egyptian Railways Authority in a statement, saying: “The train that collided with the bus was not carrying any loads, and that was on Shebin El-Qanater – Zagazig line.”
He pointed out that the accident occurred at the 58,600th kilo meters, the distance between the village of Berdin and the city of Zagazig.”
“The bus driver proceeded to walk on a road not intended for crossing, while the railway tracks are about a meter and a half higher than the road, but the driver did not take this into account and exposed himself and the passengers to the risk of death, but the passengers were able to leave the bus moments before the incident”, the source explained.
