Tens of thousands gather in Sanaa to reject blockade, decision to raise customs tariffs

SANAA, Aug. 08 (YPA) – Tens of thousands of the Yemeni people gathered on Sunday in the capital, Sanaa, to reject the blockade imposed by the Saudi-led coalition and the decision to raise Aden customs tariffs.

In a massive march called “The siege and raising the price of the customs dollar, an American crime,” a member of the Supreme Political Council, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, affirmed that the Yemeni people stand today in a steadfast stance to confront the economic war, as well as to support the military and security fronts.

Al-Houthi said that international law does not allow any country to besiege the Yemeni people, stressing that, the coalition has proven it target everyone without exception through besieging Yemen.

“If no one was facing the economic war of the coalition , the price of the dollar would have risen to record numbers.” He added that America is constantly working to target the Yemeni riyal against the dollar.

He noted that the Yemeni people are aware that the authority in Sanaa maintains the security and stability despite all conspiracies, urging everyone to talk about the enemy and its unjust measures, which seek to strike the home front though increase in the price of customs tariffs in Aden port.

The policy of starvation, siege and restrictions have been taken by the coalition, are various forms of economic war, including the decision to raise the price of customs tariffs, to try to target the Yemeni people’s steadfastness, al-Houthi said.

In addition, the march statement affirmed that America is responsible for the aggression and siege that the Yemeni people are subjected to, considering the raising of the customs tariff price as US decision implemented by its tools.

The statement stressed that the acts of maritime piracy are a condemned war crime, and the re-opening of Sanaa airport and the port of Hodeida, as well as access to food and medicine are sacred rights do not accept to bargain.

The march saluted the national stances rejecting the decision to raise the price of the Aden customs tariff.

The statement affirmed the continuation of the Yemeni people in confronting the forces of the coalition, calling the missile and air forces of the Yemeni army to intensify the painful strikes in the depth of the coalition forces.
