SANAA, Aug. 01 (YPA) – The hashtag “#Expulsion_Sky_News_Arabia” has become a trend in Algeria, following the Algerian authorities’ decision to withdraw the accreditation of al-Arabiya, which is owned by the Family of the Saudi regime, accusing the channel of “disinformation and manipulation”.
Activists on social media launched a campaign calling for the expulsion of the UAE-owned Sky News Arabic channel.
They stressed that these channels are misleading and spreading false news should be expelled because they are threatening the security and stability of the country, and implement the agenda of the Zionist entity.
The activists pointed to the role of these channels, which aim to spread a culture of normalization and attack countries that defend the Palestinian cause and Arab and Islamic unity.
“The Ministry of Communication has decided to withdraw the accreditation granted to the representative of “Al-Arabiya” television channel in Algeria,” the official APS news agency quoted the ministry of communication as saying.
“The decision to withdraw the accreditation was due to this channel’s failure to respect the rules of ethics and practice of disinformation and manipulation,” the ministry added.
The statement issued by the Algerian Ministry of Communication did not indicate the immediate reason for the withdrawal of the accreditation of the Saudi channel.
