Ahmad Jibril, PFLP founder, dies in Syria at 83

SANAA, Jul. 08 (YPA) – Ahmad Jibril, founder of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command organization, died Wednesday at the age of 83 in a Damascus hospital.

Jibril founded the PFLP-GV in 1968 as a breakaway group from the PFLP organization.

He was born near Jaffa in 1928 before his family was displaced to Syria in 1948, where he joined the Syrian army.
