Al-Awda reveals new developments in his father’s case

SANAA, Jul. 07 (YPA) – Dr. Abdullah al-Awda, son of detained Saudi prominent preacher Sheikh Salman al-Awda, has revealed new developments in the case of his father, who has been detained since 2017 as part of a campaign launched by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman against a number of opponents.

Abdullah said in a tweet that his father’s trial hearing was postponed on Tuesday by the specialized court.

Al-Awda described the decision as a “farce”, noting that what had happened was a clear violation of the most basic justice procedures, and in repeated postponements three years ago revealed the scale of the court’s manipulation.

He also explained that they had not brought his father to the hearing, had not been reassured by the family for a long time, and his telephone call had been cut off for a year.

On March 14, 2021, Dr. Abdullah al-Awda revealed that his father Salman al-Awda had attended a secret hearing as part of the comic trial in the specialized court.

he continued: “He was brought in chained like every time, and it was a very quick session that they lifted to trade.

In a subsequent tweet, Abdullah al-Awda also revealed that the Saudi regime continues to slowly kill his father in solitary confinement and harm. He said that his father has lost half of  his hearing and half his eyesight due to deliberate medical negligence.
