Sudanese troops fighting in Yemen trained by Qatari officers : Sources

SANAA, June 5 (YPA) – Sudanese diplomatic sources said on Tuesday that Sudanese troops sent to Yemen have been trained secretly by Qatari officers.

The sources revealed that Qatar continues to play a mysterious role in what is happening in Yemen, noting that it benefited from its relationship with the Sudanese president to return to participate in the coalition led by Saudi Arabia and the UAE against Yemen.

Qatari sources said on Monday evening that Qatar intends to send a group of professional officers to Sudan to replace their colleagues in the task of training the battalions, which are mobilized by President Omaral- Bashir to be sent to Yemen.

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have accused Qatar of supporting terrorism and have ended its participation in their military campaign against Yemen and imposed a political and economic blockade on it for nearly a year.

Qatar is trying to break this siege imposed on it through renewing its neglected relations with a number of countries, including African countries.
