SANAA, Jun. 16 (YPA) – At least 36 people were injured in a car bomb explosion at military base near the northeastern Colombian city of Cucuta, Colombian media reported.
Colombian newspaper El Tiempo reported that unidentified assailants detonated two car bombs inside a Colombian army base.
The injured were taken to hospitals.
Colombian authorities opened an investigation into the incident, with President President Ivan Duque announcing that he had instructed Defence Minister to go to the scene of the bombing to find out the circumstances of the incident.
Colombia witnessed a similar car bomb explosion in the west of the country in March, injuring 43 people.
The Colombian authorities hold left-wing rebel groups, particularly the National Liberation Army (ELN) and FARC responsible for the bombings.
