Coalition launches airstrikes on Hadi’s forces in Marib

MARIB, Jun. 14 (YPA) -Dozens of Hadi loyalist Islah Party militants were killed and others wounded on Monday in coalition raids during an attempted withdrawal following clashes with Yemeni forces in Marib.

This was reported by Yemen News Portal, based on tribal sources.

Tribal sources said that two raids targeted a gathering of Hadi forces in al-Balaq area, leaving 59 dead and wounded.

The raids came hours after clashes on more than one front ended with the withdrawal of Hadi’s forces, who had tried tried to attack the army and Popular Committees near Ma’rib.

Hadi’s defence minister has not yet commented on the attack, and it is not clear yet whether the raids were a case of accidental friendly fire, a deliberate attack meant as a punishment for withdrawing, or potentially an Emirati strike against Saudi-backed forces deemed to be a threat to UAE strategic interests.
