Tehran regains right to vote at UN

TEHERAN, Jun. 12 (YPA) – Iran’s Permanent Representative of Iran to the United Nations, Majid Takht Ravanchi said Friday evening that his country had regained its right to vote within the organization after paying its financial arrears.

Illegal US sanctions have not just deprived our people of medicine; they have also prevented Iran from paying our dues in arrears to the UN,  Majid Takht Ravanchi said in a tweet

After more than 6 months of working on it, the UN today announced it has received the funds. ALL inhumane sanctions must be lifted NOW, he added

Earlier this week, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif condemned the UN’s statement suspending Iran’s right to vote in the organization, saying it was because of US sanctions.
