Celebrating on May 22 sparks conflict into gov’t loyal to coalition in Aden

ADEN, May 20 (YPA) – Hadi government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition is locked a struggle over the celebration of Yemeni Unity Day, which is held on May 22.

According to media sources, the Minister of Civil Service in Hadi’s government, Abdel Nasser Al-Wali, who is belong to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), did not issue any decision regarding the holiday on May 22.

The STC is the largest pro-coalition component calling for separation under the auspices of the United Arab Emirates and the United States of America, and has previously announced its readiness to normalize with the Israeli entity to achieve its separation.

The National Day, Republic Day) is national holiday in Yemen held on May 22 and commemorates the unification of North and South of Yemen, which took place on this date in 1990.
