SANAA, April 28 (YPA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif demanded, on Wednesday, an end to the war and the lifting of the siege on the Yemeni people.
In a meeting between Zarif and Ansar Allah spokesman Muhammad Abdul Salam in the Omani capital, Muscat, the Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the need to lift the siege and end the war.
The Iranian Foreign Minister expressed his regret for the war imposed over a full 6 years against the Yemeni people, demanding, by force, to lift the siege and end this war, reaffirming his country’s position that a political solution is the only way to settle the crisis in Yemen.
On Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh announced that Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will start an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman on Wednesday to discuss ways to strengthen relations between the two countries with Omani officials.
In a statement issued by the ministry, Khatib Zadeh said, “The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Muhammad Javad Zarif, will arrive in Oman tomorrow, Wednesday,” noting that “the purpose of Zarif’s visit to Amman is to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation in the region.
